SAILING CENTRE, VERNEUIL-SUR-SEINE
Low energy building, wooden construction
On this sloping site, an unspoiled, unique and fragile ecosystem is home to wildlife and plants of environmental importance. Our project draws on the qualities of this site, sensitively creating a shared space for sailing and the natural environment to co-exist. Built in wood, the architecture blends into the trees. Space is created between the building and the lake for planting extra trees, continuing the line of alders already growing along the waters edge. In this way the building fits into the existing landscape with the ultimate aim of becoming part of it.
