EXHIBITION – PAVILLON DE L’ARSENAL
CONFERENCE 12th OCTOBRE 2016
By extrapolating the current data, in the horizon 2030, the accumulated volumes of inert soil extracted in Ile-de-France would lie in the approximate range of 400 million tons, a gigantic heap which would reach almost twice the height of the Eiffel Tower. The economic impact, estimated to several billion euros, is as alarming as the ecological impact… This exhibition demonstrates that we can upcycle a large proportion of inert waste extracted from the Parisian subsoil (diverse construction sites, construction site of the Grand Paris Express) to make real contemporary building materials in earth out of them, suitable for housings, and to a wider extend for tomorrow’s sustainable city.
